Edexcel Higher National Certificate in Business

These courses have 10 Units:

• HNC in business
• HNC in business (Finance)
• HNC in business (Management)
• HNC in business (Marketing)
• HNC in business (Human Resources Management)

HNC students normally want the qualification to enhance their career prospects. In the UK an HNC gains exemptions from many professional examinations.

Edexcel Higher National Diploma in Business

These courses have 16 Units:

• HND in business
• HND in business (Finance)
• HND in business (Management)
• HND in business (Marketing)
• HND in business (Human Resources Management)

The HND is equivalent to the first two years of a business degree. Many students "top up" their HND to a BA (Hons) degree by studying further. Stratford Business School has a partnership arrangement with Bournemouth University, who provide a distance learning BA (Hons) top up programme.

You should be over 18 years old, with some experience of working or studying. HND students will need access to a computer with spreadsheet and presentation software (for example Excel and PowerPoint).

HNC to HND "Top Up"

If you already have an HNC, or have partially completed one, then you can "top up" to a full HND by achieving 6 more Units. These can be studied entirely by distance learning and so can be achieved even if you are in full time employment.
